Over spring break, 66 students from Culver City Middle School and Culver City High School, accompanied by eight parents and eleven teachers, embarked on the trip of a lifetime with the Culver City Travel Club. Their destination: Japan—a country rich in culture, history, and unforgettable experiences.
The group journeyed through some of Japan’s most iconic cities, including Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone, and Tokyo. Along the way, they visited historic shrines, admired the stunning Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, wandered through the bustling streets of Osaka’s Dotonbori Canal, and fed friendly deer in Nara. In Kamakura, students took in the sight of the Great Buddha and traditional temples nestled among the hills.
Tokyo provided a vibrant finale to the adventure. Students explored the colorful fashion district of Harajuku, braved the world-famous Shibuya Crossing, and dove into the tech and anime culture of Akihabara. The trip was capped off with a full day of fun and excitement at Tokyo DisneySea, creating memories the students won’t soon forget.
“It was an incredible opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in another culture,” said one of the chaperoning teachers. “They came home with new perspectives, lasting friendships, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.”
The Culver City Travel Club continues to offer students meaningful global experiences, bringing classroom learning to life through hands-on cultural exploration. Next year’s adventures include a spring break trip to Panama, as well as a summer trip to New Zealand and Australia.
