Los Angeles Chargers Sign Luis Perez



The Los Angeles Chargers have signed quarterback Luis Perez.

Perez started at quarterback for the Arlington Renegades in 2024, leading the UFL in completions (225), passing yards (2,309) and passing touchdowns (18). In 2023, he spent time in the XFL with the Renegades and the Vegas Vipers, helping the Renegades win the XFL Championship. Perez previously also played in the XFL for the New Jersey Generals, New York Guardians and Los Angeles Wildcats. In addition to his tenure in the UFL and XFL, Perez has spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Perez prepped at Otay Ranch High in Chula Vista, Calif. He went on to play college football at Southwestern College in Chula Vista (2013-14) and Texas A&M-Commerce (2015-17). In 28 games for the Lions, Perez set program records in completions (665), passing yards (8,325) and passing touchdowns (78). As the most decorated quarterback in school history, he was the winner of the 2017 Harlon Hill Division II Player of the Year and a first-team All-America selection after leading the team to an NCAA Division II National Championship in his final season. Perez will wear No. 11 for the Chargers.
