Benita Bike DanceArt “Griot Songs” and More – Culver City Crossroads

Benita Bike’s DanceArt returns to the Culver City Senior Center on Saturday, April 16, 1:30pm with a program of dance discovery designed to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Benita Bike’s DanceArt is well known for its unique “see & share” performances in community sites that both entertain and stimulate. Viewers not only see performances of engaging dance works, but are invited to share their thoughts about art and dance.

Featured on this program are “From Where I Sit,” is a new dance showcasing 5 different characters in vignettes titled “Ascending,” “Tired of it All,” “Corruptor,” “Solace,” & “On Edge” in addition to “Griot Songs,” highlighting three stages of womanhood: child into woman, young womanhood, and maturity, and closing with “Me and Myself,” an excerpt from longer dance “Aspects of Me”

The Senior Center is located at 4095 Overland Avenue, Culver City. This FREE arts performance is made possible, in part, by the Culver City Senior Center, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts & Culture, and a Creative Recovery LA grant, an initiative funded by the American Rescue Plan.
