CCHS Students March to City Hall for Civil Rights – Culver City Crossroads

The huge crowd of students marching up Culver Boulevard on Feb 6, 2025 at 2 pm were shouting slogans, beating drums and honking horns. The protest march that started at the Culver City High School campus was a passionate response to the past weeks of chaos coming from the federal government.

Holding signs that said “No Human Being is Illegal,” “No Unelected Autocrats” and “Deport Hate,” the students progressed to the front courtyard at City Hall, and rallied there amplifying their message.

CCUSD Board member Brian Guerrero was present, noting that the protestors were doing all the right things. “Being a good citizen is an important [part of an education]” and while staying on the sidewalks and crossing at the intersections might seem like minor details, they gave the protestors a solid frame to present their case.

The rally lasted slightly more than an hour, with student speakers using a megaphone to address the crowd from the base of the Culver Current sculpture. Just under a thousand protestors cheered in agreement as the speakers confronted hate speech dressed in Executive Orders, and promised that youth would hold the government accountable.
