The CCUSD Board of Education took on the Local Control and Accountability Plan at the February 25, 2025, Board of Education meeting.
School districts receive funding from different sources: state funds under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), other state funds, local funds, and federal funds. LCFF funds include a base level of funding for all LEAs and extra funding – called “supplemental and concentration” grants – to LEAs based on the enrollment of high needs students (foster youth, English learners, and low-income students).
With the recent budget shortfall caused by a drop in student enrollment, a timely look at the LCAP interim report offered some highlights on what kind of progress the district is seeing.
Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Angela Elizondo Baxter, Ed.D., and Director of Teaching and Learning Dionne Garner, Ed.D., presented the Mid-Year LCAP report, noting specifically that this is an interim report, and it is a’ work in progress.’
