Congratulations to the Culver City high school winter sports teams

Senior Culver City girls’ basketball player Alexa Lee starts a fast break during a CIF Playoff game. The Lady Centaurs were eliminated in the CIF 3AA playoffs last Saturday at Cerritos by the score of 57-37. They finished the season 20-9 and they won the Ocean league playoffs.

Culver City senior boys basketball player Myles Singleton drives to the basket in a recent game. The Centaurs were beaten in the first round of the CIF playoffs by Brentwood 81-66. They finished the season with a 22-7 record, and they took second place in the eight team Ocean league.

The Lady Centaurs won two games in the CIF playoffs before they were beaten in quarterfinals. They captured first place in the Ocean league with a record of 9-0 and they finished the season at 13-8.

Culver City girls water polo player Emaan Sheik defends the left post against Torrance during a recent match. The Centaurs took first place in the Pioneer league with a record 5-0 and their overall record was 21-8. They lost in the first round of the CIF playoffs a few weeks ago.

The boys’ team placed second in the Ocean league with a record of 7-1 and they finished the season at 15-9. They lost in the second round of the CIF playoffs this month.
