L.A. GOAL, a longstanding Culver City nonprofit that supports the lives of adults with developmental disabilities, is proud to announce Late Night with L.A. GOAL, a one-time theater performance highlighting our 56 years of history.
In a world where the voices of people with disabilities are often marginalized, our plays highlight the beauty of diversity, both in abilities and life experiences. They show that inclusion is not just about being present, but about being truly seen and heard in the fullness of daily life. Our theater program reminds us that everyone’s story deserves to be told and that understanding is key to true inclusion. Through our performances, audiences experience raw, authentic, and often humorous portrayals of everyday life.
Late Night with L.A. GOAL began with storytelling about dreams – dreams of becoming a teacher, a stand-up comedian, or speaking in front of Congress, as well as the dreams we have at night. We spent a year shaping this piece, preparing to present it to the public when COVID hit.
After a two-year hiatus, rehearsals resumed. The addition of new members and the loss of others posed a challenge, but Late Night with L.A. GOAL is a testament to the troupe’s adaptability and dedication. While we kept much of the original dream show, we updated it to reflect the talents and voices of our new members.
