RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) discuss a resolution to support action for a state study of the feasibility of closing the Playa del Rey natural gas storage facility located at 8141 Guiana Avenue in Playa del Rey, CA 90293; and (2) provide direction to the City Manager as deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
On August 3, 2020, Vice Mayor Lee received support to agendize a discussion of a City of Los Angeles resolution regarding the gas storage facility in Playa Del Rey and whether the City Council was interested in adopting a similar resolution. Vice Mayor Lee has provided staff with the City of Los Angeles City Council Resolution, dated February 11, 2020 (Attachment 1).

That the City Council:
