RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve a budget amendment appropriating the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 funding for the Westside Cities Council of Governments (requires a four-fifths vote).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Every three years the responsibility for treasurer duties for the Westside Cities Council of Governments (WSCCOG) rotates amongst the participating cities. Fiscal Year 2023-2024 will be the second year the City of Culver City has been overseeing these responsibilities. The WSCCOG funds are separate from the City’s funds, however, to pay invoices and receive revenues, the WSCCOG fund must be reflected in the City’s financial system. To include something in the City’s financial systems, best practices are for the City Council to approve the budget amendment.
On June 8, 2023, the WSCCOG Board approved its Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
For Fiscal Year 2023-2024, the below funding must be appropriated in the noted revenue and expenditure accounts:
A budget amendment requires a four-fifths vote.
