RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) receive the presentation and make comments as appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Katy Krantz was appointed Culver City Artist Laureate by the City Council on January 9, 2023 for a two-year term ending December 31, 2024. The Ad Hoc Artist Laureate Subcommittee (Chair Fleischer and Commissioner Wisnosky Stehlin) have conducted regular meetings with Ms. Krantz and staff to discuss the role of Artist Laureate as cultural ambassador, current community projects, future activities, and collaboration opportunities with Culver City Arts Foundation (Culver Arts).
The Subcommittee requested that Ms. Krantz prepare status reports and make verbal presentations to the Cultural Affairs Commission on a semi-annual basis. Ms. Krantz will present a verbal update during the Commission meeting.
