This Sunday, October 13, 2024 the Wende Museum will be reopening with two new exhibitions: Counter/Surveillance: Control, Privacy, Agency, as part of PST ART: Art & Science Collide, and Undercurrents II: Archives and the Making of Soviet Jewish Identity. There will also be a new installation, Donde Nace El Agua (Where the Water is Born) by artist Felix Quintana, in our East German guardhouse.
Counter/Surveillance explores the evolution of technologies of surveillance and countersurveillance, drawing from a diverse range of geographical and sociological contexts. It is one of more than 70 exhibitions and programs presented as part of PST ART, a landmark regional event presented by the Getty that explores the intersections of art and science.
Undercurrents II: Archives and the Making of Soviet Jewish Identity tells the story of how an underground community of dissident publishers ignited a cultural revival among Soviet Jews that spread around the world.
