Join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. for Tropic Off Limits, a striking new performance by Moving Assemblage that examines the tensions between control and freedom in an increasingly automated world.
This program is presented as part of FR/MEWORKS, the Wende’s interdisciplinary music series, hosted on our campus at the Glorya Kaufman Community Center’s A-Frame Theater.
Tropic Off Limits reimagines The Red Poppy, a Soviet ballet from 1927. Through an immersive blend of music, multimedia, and performance, this installation-performance experience looks at how automation creates spaces of exclusion.
The afternoon will begin with a garden reception and a DJ set by Max Gordy. Don’t miss this exploration of techno-utopian visions of space, individuation, and the politics of labor.
