Wende Museum to Seize the Day with Music, History and Ideas – Culver City Crossroads

On April 5, 2025 the Wende Museum invites you to a full day of art, music, and ideas—from the launch of a new open storage section to a campus-wide celebration of intellectual and creative life.

We begin at 2 p.m. with the festive unveiling of Angela Davis and African American Cold War History, a new open storage display guest-curated by our 2024 Getty Marrow curatorial intern Taylor Sanders. Presented in conjunction with the following FRAMEWORKS concert, this display spotlights solidarity beyond borders.

At 3 p.m., our interdisciplinary music series FRAMEWORKS returns. Settle into the garden with a DJ set by Ashla Chavez Razzano, followed at 4 p.m. by UNDERGROUND, a live music performance in the A-Frame Theater by Teira. Inspired by our exhibition Counter/Surveillance, Teira’s ensemble will blend jazz, electronic, and alternative to explore sonic resistance in a surveilled world. A complimentary reception is included.

Then, from 5–11 p.m., the Wende will host the Los Angeles edition of Night of Ideas, a global happening of presented with Villa Albertine and the Consulate General of France.

This year’s theme—Common Ground—will be explored across every corner of the Wende campus: conversations on AI, surveillance, and the climate; curated exhibition tours; Haitian storytelling; walking meditation; stargazing with the Los Angeles Astronomical Society; live performances; and a discussion of literature as a borderless space.

Come early. Stay late. Think freely.
