RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) discuss the proclamation of local emergency on homelessness; and (2) provide direction to the City Manager as desired.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City Manager proclaimed a Local Emergency on Homelessness on January 3, 2023 (Attachment 1). The City Council approved Resolution 2023-R001 on January 9, 2023 which ratified the Local Emergency on Homelessness (Attachment 2). Additional information is contained in the staff report for the January 9, 2023 City Council meeting (Attachment 3).
On April 14, 2025, Council Member McMorrin received support to agendize a discussion of the language of the proclamation of local emergency on homelessness.
FISCAL ANALYSIS
There is no fiscal impact from discussing the local emergency on homelessness.
