Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): (1) receive a report from the October Community Conversations Ad Subcommittee; (2) if so desired, discuss and consider approval of the report’s recommendations; and (3) determine next steps as deemed necessary.

BACKGROUND

At the July 22, 2025, Regular Meeting, a discussion took place regarding the biannual workplan. Given the current political landscape and recent incidents surrounding immigration and ICE and the impact on the Culver City Community, EHRAC reached consensus to host an October Community Conversation centered around immigration and ICE’s impact on the Culver City Community.

In addition, at the July 22, 2025, Regular Meeting, EHRAC reached consensus to form an October Community Conversations Ad Hoc Subcommittee, appoint Vice Chair McBride and Members Moammar, Bano and Valverde thereto, and to hear a report from the October Community Conversations Ad Hoc Subcommittee at the August 19, 2025, Special Meeting.

DISCUSSION

Review and discuss the report provided by the October Community Conversations Ad Hoc Subcommittee (Attachment 1), and determine next steps as deemed appropriate. Event Check List (Attachment 2) can be used as a reference.

FISCAL ANALYSIS

Proposed potential fiscal impact includes fees for the facilitation of the Community Conversation.
