RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee (Advisory Committee) (1) approve the 2026 Regular Meeting Dates; and (2) receive and file the Advisory Committee 2026 Meeting Calendar and the Upcoming Agenda Items List, with adjustments, if any.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Staff has prepared this report to provide the Advisory Committee with an opportunity to review the proposed 2026 Regular Meeting Dates, the Meeting Calendar, and the Upcoming Agenda Items List (Attachment 1). As traditionally scheduled, the Advisory Committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. For reference, the third Wednesdays in 2026 fall on the following dates:
• January 21, 2026
• February 18, 2026
• March 18, 2026
• April 15, 2026
• May 20, 2026
• June 17, 2026
• July 15, 2026
• August 19, 2026
• September 16, 2026
• October 21, 2026
• November 18, 2026
• December 16, 2026
These proposed dates, along with the Meeting Calendar and Upcoming Agenda Items List, are intended to support the Committee in planning its work for the upcoming year and ensuring sufficient time for preparation and coordination of both the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and the Juneteenth Celebration.
