Early Returns – Puza Leads, Wisnosky Stehiln Close Behind; Measure AA and T Weigh Towards Yes, School Board Stays

As the polls close on Election Night, the Culver City council race looks to be tight. Mayor Freddy Puza has a strong early lead of almost 5,000 votes, coming in at 30%, with Jeannine Wisnosky Stehlin in second with 24% of the vote, at just over 4000. Former Mayor Thomas Small has a very slight lead over Kimberley Griffin, with Small at 20.86% and Griffin at 20.83% Franklin Caravajal has less than 4% of the vote, but will certainly pull more votes away from other candidates as ballots drop again soon.

Both Measure AA and Measure T have very strong leads on “Yes” with AA at almost 64% yes and T with almost 75% yes. Measure YV is trailing with almost 45% yes, but this was an issue that climbed steadily the last time it was on the ballot.

On the School Board contest, Stephanie Loredo, Brian Guerrero and Tristan Ezidore are looking like they will keep their seats. Loredo is in the top spot with almost 30 %, Guerrero is second with just under 27%, and Ezidore has just under 26%. Challenger candidate Darrel Menthe currently has less than 18%. It could be a closer race as more ballots are counted, but time will tell.

This is just under 30% of eligible voters counted so far.

Results will be updated as more ballots are posted.
