Culver City Manager Odis Jones was honored with a commemorative proclamation from Culver City Foshay Lodge No. 467, Free and Accepted Masons, during a special Proclamation Day event at the Culver Hotel Courtyard. The event brought together community leaders, local organizations, and residents to recognize the Lodge’s long-standing connection to Culver City and its rededication to another century of civic engagement and community service. In his remarks, City Manager Jones thanked Culver City Foshay Lodge No. 467, the Downtown Culver City Business Association, The Culver Hotel, the Culver City Historical Society, and all who helped organize the event. He reflected on Culver City’s complex history, acknowledging both its civic pride and the difficult legacy of exclusion and segregation that shaped parts of the City’s early identity. Jones also spoke about the significance of progress, service, and responsibility, noting that honoring history requires truth, humility, and a continued commitment to building a more inclusive future. His remarks emphasized the importance of partnership, community trust, and ensuring that Culver City remains a place where everyone is seen, valued, and welcomed.
